Workspaces and inviting people
What a workspace is, how to invite people, and what owners, admins and members can do.

Your workspace
A workspace holds your team of workers, your to-dos, chats, goals and files. Your first workspace is made when you first sign in, named after you.
Everyone in a workspace can see the content in it. The number of workers a workspace holds depends on its subscription.
Roles
- Owner: can do everything an admin can, and can make someone else an owner.
- Admin: can invite people, change roles, remove members, and change the subscription.
- Member: works in the workspace, and asks an owner or admin for changes.
Invite someone
Owners and admins invite people in the web app.
- Open Settings, then Members.
- For someone who already has an account, click Invite Member, enter their email address and a role, then click Send Invite.
- For someone with no account yet, click New Invite Link, enter their email address and a role, then click Create Link. Click Copy Link and send it to them.
An invite link works once and expires in 7 days. Until it is used, you can turn it off under Invite links.
Change a role or remove someone
On Settings > Members, an owner or admin can change a person's role or click Remove. Only an owner can change another owner.
When you are removed from a workspace, it closes on your devices. On the Mac, the app says "You no longer have access to" that workspace.
Switch workspaces
- On iPhone, tap the workspace's name at the top of the sidebar, or open Settings, then Account.
- On the Mac, the app asks you to choose a workspace when you sign in and your account is in more than one.
Answering a worker
Only the person who started a task can answer what it asks. A step on a Mac waits for the account that set up that Mac.
