Use your own AI key

Add a key from your own AI account in Settings > AI Access, and that company bills you for your workers' AI.

What your own AI is

Your workers need AI to work. With your own AI, they use a key from an AI account you already have. That company bills you for the work, and Little Worker charges nothing for it. Work on your own AI does not count toward a subscription's limit.

Free works this way. A paid subscription can use your own AI too.

Add a key on the web

  1. Get an API key from your AI account.
  2. In Little Worker, open the account menu at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Settings.
  3. Choose AI Access.
  4. Under Connect your own AI, open Account and choose your key: Your Claude key, Your OpenAI key, Your OpenRouter key or Another AI account. For Another AI account, also fill in Account ID.
  5. Paste the key in Key.
  6. Click Connect. Little Worker checks that the key works.

The key shows under Your own AI as Connected, with its last four characters.

If your AI account gives you a different address to use, open Advanced and fill in Address (optional). Leave it empty otherwise.

Use the credits in your plan

If your Claude Max or Team plan includes monthly credits, a key can use them. With Your Claude key chosen, click How to Get a Key for the steps.

Add a key on iPhone

  1. Open Settings, then AI Access.
  2. Tap the key you want to add.
  3. Paste it where it says "Paste your key". Under the field, the app says where to get that key.
  4. Tap Connect.

Little Worker keeps the key on its server, never on your iPhone, and does not show it again.

Replace or remove a key

Each key under Your own AI has a state:

  • Connected: the key works. Remove takes it away. If it was your only AI, workers stop until you connect another key or use Little Worker AI.
  • Not Working: the key stopped working, for example because the account has no credit left. Add credit there, or paste a new key with Connect Again. Remove takes it away.
  • Not Connected: no key yet. Connect starts adding one.

Little Worker AI

At the top of AI Access, Little Worker AI says On or Off. It comes with a subscription, with no key needed.

How your key is kept

Little Worker keeps your key in a separate protected store and uses it only to send your work to that AI company. Keep your key safe, and replace a key you think was exposed.
